Creating new mascots and branding for Open Door Music was a fun challenge, as most of my work has been geared toward a college-age demographic. Designing for children meant getting to play with bolder colours and simpler shapes. The inspiration for the figures came from a toy I had when I was but a lad, which was simply a bunch of basic geometric shapes that could be nailed to a corkboard  to make simple pictures. Can you imagine a child’s toy that includes a real hammer and nails in this day and age? But I digress. The design has been quite well received, and the simplicity allows for easy modifications and additions as time goes on.
